Savin Hill Hornets 4, East Boston Knights 3
Matt Conroy goes 6 innings for the win. Good defense, timely hitting, and 5 (well, 4, but more on the 5th later) East Boston outs on the bases were the keys in this one.
Nate Hodor throws out 2 runners stealing and adds a run and an rbi. Pat McClay knocks in 2 runs. Henry Spitzer adds two hits and the game-winning rbi. KC murphy reached base 3 times including a double, a stolen base, and a run scored.
The biggest play of the night was in the top of the 6th when with 2 out and the tying run on third, the Knights had apparently tied the game with a single to right. However, Hornet right fielder, Freddi Carrera grabbed the one hop line drive and fired to first to get the force play and preserve the 4-3 lead. Mike Isaia came on in the 7th to close it out.
For East Boston, Anthony Ortiz, Wilson Mercado and Kenny Polanco all had two hits. |
