East Boston Knights 11, McKay Club Beacons 8
The Knights and the Beacons faced off for the last time this season with the rubber match on this scorcher on a Sunday afternoon of which the Knights would play two. The Knights sent veteran Steve Hueston to the mound to face off against Jonathan Pelletier.
The Knights got off to a strong start plating 4 runs in the top of the first capped off by a 3 run HR by Wilson Mercado. The Knights added 2 more in the top of the 2nd to take what they thought would be a commanding 6-0 lead.
The Beacons would have something to say about that as they got to Hueston in the 3rd for 6 runs to take a 7-6 lead.
Down 8-6 in the 7th the Knights bats woke up posted 5 runs in the frame. Everyone got in on this inning as the bats got contagious and took back the lead 11-8. Knights rookie Pat Moreau pitched well in relief and got the win retiring 6 of the 7 batters he faced.
The Knights take the season series between the teams 2 to 1. |
