Sun, 19 May, 10:00AM, at Hyde Park - Ross
N. Andover Thunder 6, Boston Tigers 2
The Thunder got another strong pitching performance today, this time from
Paul Laurin, who scattered 7 Boston Tiger hits, struck out 9, walked only 2,
and allowed only 1 earned run in 9 innings of work as the Thunder prevailed
6-2 at Ross Field in Boston.
The Thunder got single runs in 6 different innings, stranding 14 runners on
base. A real team effort saw doubles by Chuck April, Steve Hattan, and Paul
Laurin, a great bunt single by Mike Rose, and key sac flies by Hattan and
Mike Rullo to drive in early runs. Old-fashioned scratch and claw, too,
with a walk to Dave Brown, a single by Mike Rose, a sac bunt by Bill Smith
to advance the runners, with Brown scoring on a grounder to third by Jim
Rullo. |
