Jeff Vigurs RBI double and Nick Martinho's 2-run single gave the Blue Sox a 3-0 first inning lead. Lexington held on for the 4-2 win to improve to 2-0 on the season. Medford (1-2)made it 3-2 when Joe Barrera and Mike Burgoyne each walked with the bases loaded. Justin Wright doubled with two outs in the seventh to drive in Dave Ahern (2b) to give the Sox a 4-2 lead. Drew Brzozowski pitched five shutout innings for the win. Sam Finn closed out the game for the save. Kevin McGlinchy went the distance and took the loss.
