Sat, 31 May, 1:00PM, at East Boston - Sartori Stadium (Game 2 of DH)
Yankees 13, Braves 10
In a wild one, the Yanks outlasted the Braves to sweep the double header. A 5-run 1st and a 7-run 3rd provided enough cushion for the victory. Offensively, Jeff Coveney led the charge with a 4-4 day including a bases clearing 3-run double. Quinn Ryan (1-2, 3B) and Mike Moloney (1-4, 3B) both had 2 RBI triples.
Although Paul Reggio has some control issues, he picked up the win. Jamie Mathews earned the save going the final 3 innings allowing no earned runs. Mathews also pitched in at the plate picking up 2 hits.
Amazingly, after pitching a complete game in game 1, Chris Allen pitched the final 3+ innings of 1-run ball for the Braves to give him 10 innings on the day. Dave Timmons had 3 hits for the Braves.
