Cary Atsalis improved to 5-0 with a complete game victory as the Brewers improved to 8-1 with a win over the North Shore Black Sox. The Brewers struck first with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning capped by a Steve Ponte 2-RBI double, his 50th double of his MSBL career, second-best of all-time. The Brewers tacked on 4 more runs in the 5th inning behind doubles from Cary Atsalis, Josh Weinstock and Jim Creedon, and a singles by Franz Strassmann and Steve Ponte. The Black Sox made a comeback attempt in the bottom of the 9th as Merrero led off the inning being HTB, but he was erased when the next batter drilled him with a linedrive as he attempted to steal second. A double by Kilduff brought in 2 runs, and brought the Sox as close as they would get.
