Cary Atsalis started for the Brewers vs. Fabian Alicea for the Vipers in a tight game going into the 4th inning. A 2-2 game in the bottom of the 4th inning, Brett Rudy doubled in Franz Strassmann and the Brewers would not relinquish the lead from there. The Vipers struck for 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning off Strassmann who had relieved Atsalis to bring the game to 8-6, but the Brewers tacked on some insurance in the bottom part of the frame, in large part to an RBI double by Robert Moschella. Strassmann struck out the side in the 8th inning, and retired all 3 batters he faced in the 9th inning to wrap up the game. Of note, Josh Weinstock and Steve Ponte each stroked 3 hits for the Brew Crew, while Felix Rojas, Fabian Alicea, Rich Winnant and Harry Smith each had multihit games for the Vipers.
