Reading pitchers Dan Eisenberg and Chris Labriola combined on a four-hit shutout while walking none and striking out four. Reading scored its only run in the second when Andy Gagnon singled with two outs and moved to second on a wild pitch. Doug Flutie then hit a grounder down the first base line that could not be fielded cleanly and Gagnon raced around ahead of the throw to the plate for the games only run.
