The Cassell Club scored two runs in the second inning and that was all they needed to defeat the Americans 2-0 in the first game of the Jerie DeAngelis Day of Baseball Tournament Saturday at Lexington High School Field. In the second, Nick Kelley (double), Gavin McDonough (single, RBI), Bob Nasson (single) and Bob McCarthy (single) put together four straight hits with one man out. A Chuck Sheehan ground out to second scored the second Cassell run in the inning. Jeff Maloney went the distance for Cassell and limited the Americans to just two hits, back to back singles by Matt Howard and Nick Dortona in the fourth. He struck out 7 batters while walking three. Kevin Hayes was the hard luck complete game loser for the Americans. Hayes allowed two earned runs, walked only one and struck out 7 Cassell batters.
