Sun, 1 August, 1:00PM, at Charlestown - Ryan (Game 1 of DH)
Reds 17, Senators 7
Solid defense was difficult to come by for both the Reds and Sens in the first game of a double header.
The Reds jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st powered by 3 straight hits from the top of the order, a few walks and a few errors. The Sens surged back with 3 of their own in the bottom of the inning thanks to 3 errors by the Reds defense.
The Reds would put the game out of reach with a big 9-run inning in the 3rd and would not look back. Dan Wilson picks up the win with none of his runs being earned while Knell picks up the 3-inning save.
Offense was paced by Knell and Melia with 3-hits a piece while Chris Dumas pitched in 4 hits with a 2B, a 3B and 3-rbi. |
