Senators 7, Grays 4
Senators come out on top behind a strong pitching performance from Matt Coyne. Coyne was efficient through 4 and then ran into trouble in the 5th allowing 3 unearned runs. On the day, Matt scattered 4 hits while striking out 5. Bob Sinopoli closed the door in the 7th.
Offensively, the Senators jumped out in front in the 2nd on a leadoff HBP, a single by Dave Timmons, a sac bunt by Coyne and back to back hits from Jon Rheault and Dennis Ingram. Rheault chipped in with a sac fly in the 3rd to seal the deal.
On the day, Ingram was 2-2 with 2 runs and 2 key stolen bases in the 6th and a diving catch in left to end the 4th. Rheault was also a menace with a clutch double in the second and 3 RBIs.
Grays starter Jay O'Hara took the tough loss. |
