Skyscrapers 7, Knights 5
Some Father's Day dramatics as Gary Gaskin launches a 2-run homer in the top of the 10th to win it for the Skyscrapers. Gaskin pitched a ridiculous 10 innings, striking out 17, and leaving it all out on the field. The evenly-matched game was played in scorching 90 degree heat, and featured 4 lead changes. Teammates mobbed Gaskin at the plate in a scene Mike Lupica described as "soaring" and "triumphant". The Scrapers dismissed Lupica's sappy language and got ripped on many, many beers. |
