Gately righthander Nick Conway shut down the Americans in a dominant complete game performance as the A's coasted to a 9-0 victory at Playstead Park. Conway, in complete command all the way, toyed with the American hitters, striking out 16 and tossing no hit ball for 4.2 innings before Mike Burgoyne lined a clean single into right to break up the no hit bid. Conway, who walked only two, would give up just one other hit, an infield single to Matt Howard in the sixth. American starter Dean Corsi took the loss.
