Cassell got one run in the 6th to pull out its home opener. They had tied the game in the 5th on a Jimmy Roche (Bentley) single that plated Aaron Santos (Endicott). Dave Ahern (Babson) picked up the win in relief, throwing two innings and striking out five batters. Tim Dunphy (Brandeis) went five, allowing three hits while striking out seven. Chuckie Sheehan (Brandeis) had two hits for Cassell. For Testa, Greg Delprete went the distance, fanning five batters. Pete John, Mike Adessa, and Kris Ireland all had hits.
