Sohn scattered 7 hits including a Johnny Welch fly ball to centerfield that bounced out of a defenders glove and landed on the other side of the fence for a solo homer. Sohn also struck out 5 in the effort. The A's offense exploded for 7 runs in the 3rd inning behind a solo homer from leadoff man Bryan Curran and a 3-run shot by catcher Ryan Sheehan. Dave Valdez blasted a 2-RBI double in the inning and Eric Mattos logged an RBI single as well.
