The Americans ran their record to 2-0 Wednesday night, defeating the visiting Mooney Dental Tanners 9-3 at Playstead Park. Twelve-year Medford veteran LHP Orazio Azzarello allowed no runs and only three hits through five innings to earn the win. Azzarello struck out two and walked four and was aided by three American double plays. Steve Tahmoush, Johnny Welch, Jerod Edmondson, Bill Smeglin and Ryan McCarthy all had two hits for the Americans. Smeglin and Mark Annese each drove in a pair for the winners.
