Sean McElroy's sixth inning two-run single with the bases loaded provided all the offense for Lexington, as the Blue Sox rallied for a 2-1 opening day win. Bill Cooke (1-0) went the distance and scattered 5 hits, walked none while striking out 10. Matt Perry (hit, walk) and Dave Katzman scored the runs for Lexington. Nick Conway threw 7 innings allowing just two hits while walking one and fanning 8 (including 4 straight in 3 & 4 innnings). Conway was nearly unhittable, but gave up two runs on a single in the sixth. Billy Manley provided 2 hits for the A's in the loss, and scored the A's only run after being driven home by Rick Vail.
