Billerica native and Roger Williams University's RHP, Greg Sousa, pitched a complete game six hitter for the Medford Americans Tuesday leading them to an opening day 3-1 victory over the visiting Watertown Reds.

Lee Jamieson matched Sousa through 5 innings allowing only 5 hits and 1 run before giving way to Jon Jackson in the sixth. Jackson, victimized by shoddy Reds' defense in the bottom of the sixth that led to 2 American runs, took the hard luck loss.

Mike Burgoyne and Steve Tahmoush had a pair of hits and a run scored for the Americans. Tahmoush's 3rd inning, two out double drove in the first American run.

Johnny Welch (double) and Mark Annese had the other American hits and each made sparkling defensive plays to help secure the win.

Dave Martin led the Reds offense with two doubles.
