The dark sky and the weather reports threatened a thunder storm that didn't happen but a storm was unleashed by the Hornet in the opening inning. The Hornets plated 7 runs as 11 batters came to bat in the top of the first. But, the real story was the Savin Hill battery of (P) Jay "Doctor" Sholl and his battery mate (C) Kyle "Brownie" Browne. The Doctor spun a gem of a game giving up one run on 5 hits thru six innings of work. Brownie went 5 for 5 and 3 RBI and ended the game catching an agressive Black Sox runner attempting to steal 3rd on a wild pitch. It was good to hear Sox coah Joe T's booming, chanting voice back in the 1B coaches box exhorting his teammates on. He is the best at it. The Sox best effort at a comeback in the 5th was thawted by a scintillating 1-2-3 defensive play.
