The Dodgers win another Marty Whitmore gem, this time a 3-1 win over the Astros and Santos Gonzalez at Ross Field. Both teams played a good defensive game behind the pitchers' duel that would see only 7 total hits all night. Whitmore threw his 2nd complete of '07, scattering 4 hits and striking out 9. Whitmore didn't just do it on the mound, he also came through with the eventual game winning RBI's. In the 3rd, SS Marc Skipper walked on 3-2, and pinch-runner Jarred Ryan stole 2nd. CF Jay Shatto worked another full count walk against Gonzalez. 3B Joe Patrolia sac bunted the runners into scoring position, and Whitmore came through with the 2 run single. He would then score on a single by LF Steve Walsh after 2B Gregg Smith moved Whitmore to third.
