Pitching was the word of the day at St. Peter's Field in Cambridge as Robert Anderson and Richie Figueroa for the Red Sox locked horns with Joe Avakian in a great duel. Anderson and Figueroa struck out eleven, spread out seven hits over nine innings and kept the Warriors off balanced long enough for their offense to put something together against Avakian. Avakian pitched extremely solid against one of the finest offenses in the league, limiting the Red Sox to two hits and four walks while the Warriors defense committed six official errors and could have had more. It was a tough game to loss, but a great win for the Red Sox. Gary Keil had the game winning RBI with a bases loaded sacrifice fly to drive in Lameuraux.
