Orioles 10, Astros 7
O's close out the regular season with their 7th win in the past 8 games, a solid team effort.
Bryan Healey pitched a CG for the Orioles; he struggled a bit early with his control but pitched his best baseball in the clutch. He worked out of a bases-loaded, nobody-out jam in the 4th without allowing a run. Later, during the 6th and 7th innings, he recorded 4 critical K's to keep the Astros at bay.
Healey was supported by a balanced Oriole attack that countered every time the Astros had a big inning. With the Orioles trailing 3-0 in the 3rd with the bases loaded, Chris Buckley hit a bases-clearing triple to tie the game. Then in the 6th, trailing by a score of 7-5, Jordan Krall hit a 2-run HR to tie the game. Later that inning, Andy Murachver broke the game open with a 2-RBI double, staking the O's to a lead that would not be relinquished. Tim Fish cemented that lead with an RBI double in the 7th to provide some insurance. |
