Tigers 4, Senators 1
The Tigers win this one in a warm-up for the first round of the playoffs. There was no score through 3, thanks to some incredible defense by Silky as he made a superman grab of a shot by Coyne, then nailed Ackerson at home as he tried to score on a Laliberte single.
Things stayed even until the 4th when the Senators filled the sacks, and Bourbeau pushed the game's first run across with a hard-fought BB. Griff was able to escape without any more damage, bringing the Tigers to the plate.
A string of walks and a Gib rope to center scored KB and 2 more on the error on the throw to the infield. This would give the Tigers all the runs they needed, and Long finished the scoring with a groundout to plate Gib.
3 other Tiger pitchers combined to finish the game, including another scoreless inning from Copson. The game capped an awesome regular season for the Tigers, and another well-played game by the Senators. Playoff!?, PLAY-OFFS!?! |
