Kevin McGowan (L, 3-4) and Doug Rexroad (W, 2-1) squared off at Kelly Field on Saturday night in what turned out to be pitcher's dual. Rexroad delivered 6 solid innings to earn the win before giving way to Neil Doherty (S,2). The bats were stifled not only by the pitching performances, but some sparkling defensive play as well. Alan Donaruma made several run-saving plays at short for the A's, while Chad Besegai (pronounced Bes-AH-guy... I think) aided a few Rangers infielders by covering up an errant throw or two. As expected, Paul Bracco made a ridiculous diving catch and patrolled centerfield with great vigor. Andy "The Little Professor" Katz cut short the A's hopes of tying the game in the seventh by smartly cutting down the lead runner at third base. Elias Sports Bureau: Dav Wilfrid smashed the MABL record for miles driven-per-ground out on Saturday. Dav drove to the game twice (once with his gear).

Rexrode, Doherty combine for win. Dav can't find his pants.
