When Ron Viola grounded toward short, Kennedy took third and scored when Manciocchi slid hard into second. Manciocchi ended up in the hospital having gashed his leg to the tendons from sliding on the crushed brick infield at Ryan. Eric Harvey pitched eight strong without allowing an earned run and Mike Vernon got the win with two innings of relief that could only be called solid. Julio Ramos turned in an excellent performance and went the distance in what was another close game loss for the Grays.
