The A's won the backend of the doubleheader to split the day. The A's offense knocked out Sox starter Chris Stone after two outs in the first inning. Santi Mazzeo had a huge day for the A's, driving two groundrule doubles into the rightfield parking lot, as well as a single, in a 3 for 3 performance. This performance also earn Santi an intentional walk later in the game. A's newcomer Alan Donaruma also had a huge day, notching the win and going 3 for 3 himself with a pair of singles and a triple. For the White Sox, Anthony Tomaro, Omar Ortiz and Mike Pollak collected multiple hits.
