Brian Houlding (5K, 3H, 0ER) notched his second opening day victory for the Boston Tigers by a score of 5-1. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead in the 2nd versus the Astros' rookie pitcher, Daniel Sesko. Stevens (1-3) led off the inning with a single and advanced to 2nd on a pass ball. Consecutive hits by Silky (2-3, 1R) and Field (1-3, 2R) brought in Stevens for the 1st run. Due to a couple of fielding miscues, the Tigers put 3 more on the board and didn't look back from there. With the bases loaded and no outs in the 5th, the Astros had a chance to do some damage but were only held to 1 run on a sweet unassisted DP turned by Pollard, the Tiger's second DP of the game.
