Anchored by strong pitching, the Astros scored a comeback victory over the Mariners, 4-2. The M's launched a 2-0 lead in the 1st, but starter Anthony Leonelli shut the door from there and the bullpen followed suit. Mariners starter Jarlin Gomez pitched well at times but walked eight and took the loss.
Leo pitched well through the first four, but the decision and win went to rookie Scott MacKenzie. He threw a ten pitch fifth with some help from his catcher Shu Sasaki, who gunned down Jeff Rausch (3H,RBI,R) trying to steal 2nd.
Sasaki had tied the game in the 4th with an RBI single that scored Rich Newman. The stros took the lead in the fifth and set the table for one of the great MABL saves of all time. Josh Vernon got an out in the sixth, but an error on a double play ball and a walk loaded the bases with one out. Then closer Mike Vernon came in and struck out two players on six pitches total and then the side in the seventh.

Vernon K's five in one and two thirds for the save.
