Lexington improved to 2-0 with a 6-5 win over Cassell, its first game in five days after being rained out over the weekend.
Tim Bryant (1-0) started and went 5 innings, scattering 7 hits, gave up 5 runs only 2 earned, walked 1 and struck out 4. Sam Steed earned his first save of the season pitching the final two innings. The lefty struck out three and allowed one hit.
The Blue Sox had three hits, but added four walks, three hit batters and took advantage of three Cassel errors to score six runs. In the four run second three runs scored on two errors and the fourth run was driven in by an infield out.
Andy Green had two hits and a run scored for Cassel. Dan Neczypor also had two hits. Brian Donahue (1-1)started and went 5 innings. He gave up 3 hits, walked 4, struck out 7 and gave up 1 earned run.
