Lexington started its defense as two-time champions with a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Medford Americans.
Down 2-1, due to a two-run double by Medford's Ryan Maguire, the Blue Sox rallied for two in the fourth as Jake Dillard with an RBI single and Bryan McDavitt with a sacrifice fly (his second RBI of the game) drove in the tying and winning runs.
Bill Cooke earned the save by striking out six batters in his two innings of work. He entered the game in the sixth with runners at first and second and shutdown Medford.
Andy Sweeney scored the first and third runs for Lexington out of the ninth spot in the order.
Jon Igoe went 5 innings, scattered 5 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4 to get his first win of 2006.
