In less than 1.5 hours the Senators topped the Marlins 2-0. Greg Conant picked up his second complete game win in as many tries. The game was tied 0-0 going into the bottom of the 5th when Joe Lombardi led off with a bunt single down the third base line. Lombardi would move to second on a balk and then to third on a single by Jason Ackerson. Rafael Mejia would then plate Lombardi on a hard single to left. Back to back singles by Greg Conant and John Howe would add one more. Neil Doherty pitched well for the Marlins in a losing effort.
