With the score tied at five in the bottom of the 7th, Goofus (who had earlier face planted into second) led off with a broken bat single and was mercifully pinch run for upon reaching first. New runner Josh Vernon advanced to second on a balk and scored when Gallant (who also earned the win in relief) singled to right. After the game all agreed that Goofus looked funny with a cut on the bridge of his nose, Gallant was very clutch, and that new guy Mike Byrne is a heck of a player.
